Maruti Suzuki’s latest SUV, the Victoris, has achieved an impressive 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP for both adult and child passenger safety. This milestone highlights the company’s growing focus on building safer vehicles. The Victoris is the second Maruti Suzuki model, after last year’s Dzire, to earn this top rating under Global NCAP’s strict new testing standards.
Maruti’s Commitment to Safety
Maruti Suzuki voluntarily submitted the Victoris for testing, showing its dedication to transparency and safety. According to Global NCAP CEO Richard Woods, this 5-star rating reflects Maruti Suzuki’s efforts to improve safety in its new models. The Victoris builds on the high standards set by the Dzire, offering Indian car buyers a safer driving experience.
Crash Test Results
The Victoris comes equipped with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and pedestrian safety features as standard. It also offers Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as an optional feature. During crash tests, the vehicle’s structure and footwell area remained stable and could handle additional impact. The SUV includes three-point seatbelts for all seats and i-Size anchorages for child seats as standard.
In all crash test scenarios, the Victoris provided good to adequate protection for adult passengers’ body areas. It showed full protection for the head in side-impact and pole tests. For child safety, dummies representing 18-month-old and three-year-old children were fully protected in rear-facing child seats with ISOFIX anchorages and support legs.
Price and Availability
Maruti Suzuki has announced the pricing for the Victoris. The ex-showroom price ranges from ₹10,49,900 to ₹19,98,900. For the CNG variant, prices start at ₹11,49,900 and go up to ₹14,56,900. The SUV also earned a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP earlier. It will be available in 21 variants, with sales starting on September 22.
