Genesis is recalling nearly 84,000 vehicles in the US because of a problem with the dashboard screens. The affected cars are recent models from 2025 and 2026.
Which Genesis Models Are Included?
The recall covers these models:
- G80
- Electrified G80
- GV60
- GV70
- Electrified GV70
- GV80
A total of about 83,877 vehicles are involved.
What Is the Problem?
The instrument cluster (the digital screen behind the steering wheel that shows speed, fuel level, temperature, and warning lights) and the center infotainment screen may suddenly turn off or restart while you are driving.
This happens because of a software glitch linked to the HD radio memory storage. When the screens reboot, important information like your speed or any warning messages can disappear for a short time.
Is It Dangerous?
Yes, it can be a safety risk. Drivers need to see their speed and other key info at all times. If the screens go blank, it could make driving less safe. So far, Genesis says they do not know of any crashes or injuries caused by this issue.
What Should Owners Do Right Now?
Genesis advises owners to turn off the HD radio feature in their car until the fix is done. This helps prevent the problem from happening.
The company will send letters by mail to all affected owners with more details. Owners should take their vehicle to a Genesis dealership for a free software update. Some cars may get the update over-the-air (through the internet, without visiting the dealer).
The fix was already added to new cars built starting late November 2025.

This recall comes from reports of 237 complaints received between late 2024 and early 2026. Genesis (through its parent company Hyundai) filed the recall with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to keep drivers safe.
