Ford Recalls Edge & Lincoln MKX for Brake Fluid Leak

Ford is recalling almost 500,000 vehicles because of a problem with the brakes. A part called a brake hose might be damaged, which can cause brake fluid to leak out. If this happens, it could make it much harder for the car to stop quickly.

Affected Vehicle Models

The recall affects specific models in the United States:

  • Ford Edge SUVs from model years 2015 to 2018
  • Lincoln MKX luxury vehicles from model years 2016 to 2018

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says that even though a lot of vehicles are part of the recall, only about 1% are expected to have this problem. Ford has not received any reports of crashes or injuries because of this issue.

In addition to this, Ford has also announced two other recalls: one for about 213,000 cars with bad tail lights, and another for about 100,000 vehicles with airbags that could tear when they open.

If you own one of the affected models, it’s a good idea to check if your vehicle is included in the recall. You can do this by using your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the Ford or NHTSA website.
